About GitCheck
GitCheck is a public GitHub analytics platform that transforms raw GitHub data into meaningful developer insights. Using advanced statistical algorithms and z-score normalization, we calculate a 0-100 developer score based on four weighted components: Impact (35%), Code Quality (30%), Consistency (20%), and Collaboration (15%).
Built with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL on Neon, GitCheck processes GitHub GraphQL and REST API data to analyze up to 100 repositories per profile. Our scoring system compares developers against a baseline population of 100,000+ users, ensuring percentile-based scores remain meaningful over time.
Privacy is paramount. We require no authentication or OAuth permissions—simply enter any public GitHub username to analyze. All data accessed is already publicly available on GitHub. We implement 24-hour smart caching, IP-based rate limiting (5 req/15min), and honeypot bot protection to ensure fair usage.
Whether you're tracking personal growth, evaluating candidates, or benchmarking against peers, GitCheck provides the quantifiable metrics you need.
